Me, My Friend and Mindy

Road trip with my friend this weekend. She has a thing for Hula girls so the Ninjas had company on the dash. The weather was not as predicted when plans were made but really it more about the company you are with than the location. Had a blast and forgot about the everyday. 

The Beetle Coupe got great gas mileage on the highway. Pa to MD and back one tank of gas . Well over 300 miles. Sweet!

New Ride. Ninjas already on board. Adventures waiting to be had. 

Every weekend, rain or shine we go for a drive someplace new. 

I must say I have been car shopping for a while and did research on quite a few cars. I test drove way too many cars. I was becoming very discouraged but then I remembered the VW Beetle Coupe. I began research and I definitely was the funnest drive of all the cars I test drove. Smooth ride and handles well. The gas mileage is good. (First tank of gas I got 29 miles per gallon in town going back and forth to work.) So here I am a new owner of a VW Beetle Coupe. 

Just a thought

Thought about running today. It was a wonderful thought, I was running, my heart pumping, the wind blowing through my hair. My legs starting to burn but enduring the discomfort to benefit physically in the end. It was a good thought but just a thought. Motivation is just not my friend right now. We seem to be on the outs. What to do to repair our friendship? Maybe a little self sacrifice. 

Fat ninja

I have become a fat ninja. It so ninja like though. Fat just sneaks up until you realize too late you have let yourself go for way too long. And your like WTF.

Green arrow addition

I love getting the little green arrow. I get to go first. Makes me feel a bit special. You all must wait til I make my left turn before you may proceed. Sometimes I go in the left turn lane just so I can go first even though I am suppose to go another way. Somedays I need that little bit of feeling special. Its a nice little silly feel good high for me.

Don't judge.

I had an amazing thought provoking comment. Then I forgot it but I swear it was amazing.......I think. Or it could be the booze. The world will never know.

Stop and smell the roses or tulips or daisies. Well not daisies. Pretty but really not the sweetest smelling flower.

Chillin' with a Ninja

Simple pleasures of life. A cold beer, a fire and a ninja. What more can you ask for after a long day at work? Speaking of work; summer is coming to an end and I have not done all I have set out to accomplish. I decided work just gets in the way. Takes up entirely too much of my time. I have adventures to accomplish. Do my bosses not realize this? Did they not get the memo? C'mon people! Let alone the time I have missed training!
But I will fix it all. I will just have to do some winter adventures and search for a less time consuming job. You always got to have a plan.

I have a friend who is a pirate. We get along pretty well.

We go on adventures together.

Although there are times we fight epic battles. 

But all in good fun.

Proving the point beings of different cultures can get along.

Little White Ninja Dandelion Puff

This is a little electric cart like I drive at my work.

(But mine is orange)

A story

As I was driving  from one building to the next and a might stressed I must admit. My easy day was turning into one complication to another. I could feel my face getting tight and my muscles were getting tense and I just was just not a happy camper. This is when i a had a visitor. 

A dandelion puff.

 All white and puffy it flew in the window and  proceeded to fly around the cab of my little cart. I smiled. The puff swirled in front of my face and I tried to catch it to make a wish. The puff eluded my grasp and I giggled. I continued my drive to the other side of the campus and the little dandelion puff swirled around my head, swooped down to my feet and back up to the passenger's side of the cart, whisks it's way above my head, swirled in front of my nose causing my eyes to cross. I tried again to catch the little puff yet again but it fluttered to the right leaving me to catch air once again. 

I reached my destination and I could not see my little visitor anymore. I opened my door and stepped out and as I was about to close the door the little puff caught a ride on a breeze and flew out of my little vehicle. I watched the little white puff sail up to the sky. I grinned from ear to ear. I pondered the affect the small little dandelion puff affected my mood. Something so small and silly able to  disintegrate the stress and pressure of my day. Maybe the complications of the day was really nothing to be that upset able because it only took a short drive with a stealthy little ninja dandelion puff who time after time escaped my capture. 

later that night......

I received a call from work around 9:30 pm. There was a flood in one of the buildings. Being I was on call, it was my responsibility to go in after hours and clean it up. I get dressed and head on in. Get on the campus and get in my little cart and load up the wet vac. I reach the the building where the flood is at 10pm. I park my little cart under a street light. Just as I was about to unload my wet vac something caught my eye descending from the streetlight above; a little white dandelion puff floated down and floated right past my face and up again into the dark night sky. 

I hummed and smiled as I sucked up gallons and gallons of water til the wee hours of the night.

Adventures.
Recently I have had a few small ones and one major one. More on the horizon.

So far this year has had some ups and some serious downs. Hanging on and surviving like a good ninja wannabe. I must admit life is giving me a bit of a fight these last few months but I take the shots and counter. I wait and keep vigil for the opening. To turn the tables to make this fight mine. Not just to react to what is thrown at me but to take more control and set the pace.

New Year, New Ninja Resolution

I want to be like Bilbo Baggins, When I am walking out the door and my kids ask, "Where ya going, mom?" I will quote Bilbo Baggins from the Hobbit movie, "I am going on an adventure."

I am a big believer in New Year's resolution. I am not talking, I am going to lose ten pounds or exercise more or eat healthier. Not bad resolutions but not what I have in mind. I review the past year and think forward to what I want the new year to be. I mean serious look. I am all about goals. Set my goals for my martial arts training. Set career goals and financial goals.

Once the goals are set then I turn to resolutions.

I only have one resolution that I renew every year. 

Do not judge myself by others accomplishments. 

This year's resolution themes are friends and fun.

Work on old friendships and cultivate new friends.

Have fun. Really enjoy life and go on many adventures!

Be adventurous 

Creativity at it's finest.
